When you visit a physiotherapist, you’re placing a great deal of trust in the person sitting across from you.
You are trusting them to listen, to understand what you’re going through and to help guide you back to the activities that matter most.
Recently, we spent some time reflecting on what drew us to physiotherapy, what keeps us passionate about the profession and what The Lamberti Way means to each of us. While our journeys into physiotherapy may have been different, many of the values that guide us are remarkably similar.
Join us as we introduce some of the people behind The Lamberti Way and share what continues to inspire us every day.
What drew us to physiotherapy?
Ask five physiotherapists what drew them to the profession and you’ll likely get five different answers.
For some, it was the opportunity to help people through difficult seasons of life. For others, it was a fascination with the human body, a love of problem-solving or the challenge of finding answers when things aren’t always straightforward.
Fiona describes physiotherapy as a puzzle:
“It is very much about the puzzle for me. I enjoy the challenge of finding the correct diagnosis, getting to the core of it as quickly as possible and getting results.”
Many of us spoke about the satisfaction of helping people return to the activities they love, whether that’s sport, family life, work or simply moving through the day with greater confidence and less pain.
While our paths into physiotherapy may have been different, they all began with a desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
What keeps us passionate after all these years?
If there was one theme that appeared in almost every conversation, it was the belief that learning never stops.
Physiotherapy is constantly evolving. New research emerges, new techniques are explored and our understanding of the human body continues to grow. To provide the best possible care, we need to be willing to grow too.
For some of us, that means studying new techniques and refining our diagnostic skills. For others, it means mentoring younger physiotherapists, sharing knowledge and learning from colleagues with different experiences and perspectives.
As Wendy puts it:
“I feel like an eternal student – there is always something new to learn.”
This mindset is deeply woven into The Lamberti Way.
We believe in being generous with knowledge. We challenge one another, support one another and learn from one another because better learning leads to better care.
It’s not about collecting qualifications or ticking boxes. It’s about continually improving so that every patient who walks through our doors benefits from the best of what we know today.
Why Lamberti?
When we reflected on why we chose Lamberti Physiotherapy, the answers were remarkably consistent.
Again and again, we found ourselves talking about people.
Not just the patients we have the privilege of treating, but the colleagues we learn from, lean on and grow alongside every day.
We spoke about integrity, support and being surrounded by people who are generous with their time, knowledge and encouragement. We spoke about a culture where questions are welcomed, learning is shared and success is celebrated collectively rather than individually.
Wendy describes Lamberti as “a place of growth, family and support.”
Kate puts it even more simply:
“Lamberti feels like home.”
These reflections speak to something that sits at the heart of The Lamberti Way. When people feel supported, they are more willing to share knowledge, ask questions, challenge ideas and learn from one another. That spirit of collaboration helps us grow as clinicians and strengthens the care we provide as a team.
While every physiotherapist brings their own experiences, strengths and interests to the practice, we are united by a shared commitment to providing thoughtful, patient-centred care. It means that no matter which Lamberti practice a patient visits, they can expect the same values, the same integrity and the same commitment to helping them achieve the outcomes that matter most.
For us, consistent, high-quality care starts with a team that learns together, supports one another and shares a common purpose.
What The Lamberti Way means to us
When we asked what The Lamberti Way means, the answers varied slightly, but the underlying principles remained the same.
It is about doing what is right for the patient.
It is about taking the time to listen, understand and see the person behind the injury, diagnosis or pain.
It is about remaining curious, continuing to learn and never becoming complacent in the pursuit of better outcomes.
It is about working collaboratively, recognising when another healthcare professional may be better placed to help and always putting the patient’s needs first.
Perhaps Shelagh summarises it best:
“I don’t have a favourite condition to treat. I treat people and everything that comes with that.”
This sentiment captures much of what The Lamberti Way is about.
Every patient arrives with a unique story, a different set of circumstances and their own goals for recovery. Our role is not simply to treat a condition, it is about understanding the person in front of us and helping them return to the things that matter most.
While the techniques we use, the injuries we treat and the experiences we bring may differ, our commitment remains the same: helping people move, recover and live better.
More than a team
When reflecting on the impact that the Lamberti Way has, Natalie shared a thought that resonated with many of us:
“I feel that I can make a small positive change in someone’s life every day.”
In many ways, that simple idea captures the heart of what we do.
The answers may differ slightly depending on who you ask, but the heart of it remains the same.
A commitment to learning, helping and ultimately to doing the best possible job for every patient who walks through the door.
That is what connects these individuals.
That is what shapes the culture of Lamberti Physiotherapy.
Every day, across our practices, that philosophy is carried forward by people who care deeply about their patients, support one another’s growth and remain committed to helping others move, recover and live better.
And that is The Lamberti Way.
It is not a slogan.
It is simply the way we do things.
