Natalie Ruivo-Almeida
BSc (Physio) WITS
After qualifying in 2008 from Wits, Natalie spent some time gaining valuable experience in London, England. She is the Practice Manager for the DAINFERN and LONEHILL branches. Natalie has directed her post-graduate learning focusing on her special interests in adolescents’ injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, and knee injuries. She is a keen Pilates enthusiast and instructs classes, providing a holistic approach to managing musculoskeletal problems but enjoys treating all orthopaedic and sports-related injuries. Natalie has done a post-graduate qualification in dry needling.
Karina Ruest
BSc (Physio) Stell
Karina qualified in 2023 and has joined our team at the DAINFERN branch. With a passion for treating orthopaedic and neuromuscular conditions, she specialises in back pain, neck and shoulder pain, and sports injuries. Karina is certified in both Level 1 & 2 dry needling and is a qualified Clinical Pilates instructor. She enjoys manipulative physiotherapeutic techniques and integrating Pilates techniques into her personalised rehabilitation programs. Outside of work, Karina stays active through running and gym.
Khona Shabalala
BSc (Physio) UCT
Khona qualified from the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 2022. She completed her post graduate course in Sports Physiotherapy (SPT) in 2024. She has also completed courses in dry needling and strapping. She is passionate about helping people of all ages and backgrounds achieve their highest levels of functionality and activity. Khona has a keen interest in sports rehabilitation, chronic pain management, women’s health conditions, headaches, and post-operative recovery. She is currently practising at both LONEHILL & DAINFERN branches.
Courtney Lappeman
BSc (Physio) Wits
Courtney graduated from Wits University in 2022. She has a special interest in orthopaedic and neuromuscular conditions and enjoys working with children and teens. She has a special interest in neck and back pain, as well as knee and ankle injuries. She loves hiking and training in the gym. Courtney has completed her Level One dry needling course and other courses.
