Biokinetics is the Science of Movement and the application of exercise in the rehabilitative treatment of performance. Its primary function is to improve physical functioning and healthcare through exercise. This profession is also concerned with health promotion, the maintenance of physical abilities and final phase rehabilitation by prescribing scientifically-based, physical activity programmes.
Adjustability is the Biokinetics group at Lamberti Woodmead and offers professional services, which include evaluation and measurement of body posture and composition, blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol levels, muscle strength, endurance, power, flexibility and overall endurance. The Biokineticist who treats you will conduct an assessment of your health risk factors to provide the correct strategy that will support you towards total wellness and movement. This may include a specific programme for muscle strengthening, toning, sport-specific training, as well as weight loss and general fitness.

Neurological and Chronic Disorders

• Individual and supervised exercise programmes for the prevention and management of conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, lung disease, arthritis, osteoporosis and pregnancy (pre and postnatal).

Sports and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation

Orthopaedic Conditions: Individual exercise prescription for the rehabilitation of the back, neck, knee, shoulder, hip and ankle injuries and conditions. Treatment is offered from the time of the injury up to and including full participation in sport or other physical activities of life.

Exercise Testing for Athletes: Exercise and sport-specific testing of athletes and training specific to an athlete’s endurance, speed, flexibility, agility, power, strength and mobility.
